India Accommodation

During your trip with us you'll stay in India accommodation that reflects the character of your surroundings. You'll experience a wide variety of styles and standards of India accommodation, for example you might spend a night in a desert tent, enjoy a night on a cosy houseboat as it drifts through tropical backwaters, or laze in a deluxe bungalow on a paradise island. We use a hand-picked selection of authentic hotels with lots of local character, and therefore steer clear of international chains. We personally ensure that each property has the right combination of features such as cleanliness, location, friendly staff and good service. We're confident that you'll enjoy our India accommodation options just as much as our previous customers.

We use a pool of India accommodation in each destination, which means that if one hotel is full, we are able to offer another of equal standard. Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a comprehensive list of the hotels you'll be staying in.

If you'd like to start building your very own India trip, you can take your pick from our unique, bite-sized India tours, or choose from our range of suggested holidays to India. Need some more advice or inspiration? Have a chat with one of our India travel specialists on 01273 322044.

Special Stay Accommodation
- Category 4

Location and comfort are the two most important factors when selecting suitable hotels for this accommodation category. Our choice of hotels in this category are priced slightly higher than our standard accommodation but it offers you something extra special.

Our special stay accommodation offers you either a unique view of your surroundings or a little something extra in terms of atmosphere or quality of facilities. We can upgrade in most places, including the beach in Kerala. The former Maharaja's palace in Samode is an example of our special stay accommodation at the top end of category 4; in fact it's probably a 5! Please ask one of our travel specialists for tips on where to add a special stay to your itinerary.

Comfortable Accommodation
- Category 3
- Standard for India Travel Plan

A warm and inviting atmosphere, small-scale charm, cleanliness and a favourable location are our top priorities for this category and this includes most of the accommodation that we offer. A sense of privacy and some comfort are also important during travel, so we'll book a private room with an en-suite bathroom for you as well.

You can expect a mid-range traditional haveli or a hotel/guesthouse, usually air-conditioned. Sometimes you will even find a swimming pool on the premises. The hotels you will stay in during our Delhi and Jaipur trip are perfect examples of our category 3 accommodation.

Simple Accommodation
- Category 2

Sometimes, when deciding where to stay in India, there aren't too many options, or accommodation isn't as important as what you'll experience when you step out of your front door. Our simple accommodation category offers you modest, yet reasonably comfortable accommodation options.

You will still have your own room with private facilities even though the accommodation is more simple than some of our other options. For example, during our Dharamsala trip you'll stay in a simple hotel that offers a majestic view of the mountains and the countryside from your room. During our Sikkim trip you will be get the chance to stay in a tranquil hotel located right in the middle of lush green gardens and beautiful surroundings.

Basic Accommodation
- Category 1

In this category you really will be going back to basics! The facilities in this category won't be what you will be used to in the west but it offers a truly authentic way of seeing India. An example of this is when you spend the night on a houseboat, floating down the Kerala backwaters in the South of India. The bathroom and facilites are quite basic and there is only cold water available, but the scenery is spectacular. Although the houseboat is reasonably basic, this really is a once in a lifetime experience!

We also include sleeper trains in this category of accommodation. All the trains have toilets on board, are air-conditioned and have flat beds which makes it easier to sleep.
