We have moved!

India Travel Plan has a new home. We have combined all of our existing travel plan destinations on to our brand new mobile friendly Rickshaw Travel Website.

Why did we do this? To make it easier to find an independent, meaningful holiday experience that is right for you. And if you're feeling brave why not visit more than one country in your trip!

See you there! The Rickshaw team.

Travel in India- Get Inspired

Get Inspired

A picture can tell a thousand words, and for us, one of the best ways to get inspired about a destination is to see it. The pictures below will hopefully inspire you when planning your India holiday, and also give you an idea about the type of travel in India we offer and the authentic accommodation and transport we use.
Explore India at your own pace and at the comfort level of your choice. Whether you wish to delight your senses in the bustling, spiced-filled cities or take a more peaceful journey including the spirtual waters of the Ganges, or discovering mountain monasteries, our friendly travel specialists will help you arrange an itinerary to reflect your needs and wishes; just give us a call on 01273 322044. We actively encourage people to use public transport on their India holiday as it tends to be an exciting and authentic experience, this could include air conditioned sleeper trains, internal flights, private car or even a ride on a rickshaw! All your transfers will be arranged before you embark on your trip, so all you will need to do will be sit back and enjoy the journey.

Accommodation with character

When you travel in India, you'll stay in a range of authentic hand-picked accommodation. For example you might spend a night in a desert tent, enjoy a night on a cosy houseboat as it drifts through tropical backwaters, or experience a traditional clay hut in Rajasthan. We aim to avoid large hotel chains and instead source lodgings that will give you a real taste of Indian culture.

We have personally visited all of the accommodation that we offer on our travel plans. Each has been chosen with great service, character and location in mind, whether it be a Maharaja style palace or a cosy beachfront eco hut in Goa.

Experience India

On your India holiday we will ensure that your travel plan will include not only the famous highlights of the country, but the 'real' India experiences that will make each day a new adventure.

Drift through emerald backwaters in Kerala, watch the sun rise over the Taj Mahal, spot wild tigers in Rajasthan, and relax on the golden sands of Goa. We can help you build your perfect India itinerary. For a truly memorable experience why rest your head Maharja style, spending a few days in a palace in the hills overlooking the town of Samode.

Flexible holidays

There are many highlights to experience when you travel to India. Why not take an evening safari in search of wild elelphants in Kerala, explore ancient desert forts in Rajasthan, and delve into bustling Delhi, dodging holy cows and taking in the culture around you.

Many of our suggested holidays combine active trips with sightseeing opportunities, and end with a relaxing beach stay. However these are completely flexible and we can help you build your India trip to the pace that suits you. Whether you fancy taking a trip into the mighty Himalayas for the trek of a lifetime, or simply taking a dip in the Indian ocean and relaxing in laid-back tropical Kerala- it's completely up to you.

A different way to travel

During your India holiday, you will use various means of transport. We believe that this way you can make your journeys a varied and exciting part of your India experience.
Jump on an traditional auto-rickshaw for a speedy across-city ride, or take a scenic toy train ride through the tea plantations of Darjeeling. If you fancy some extra time in your locations, internal flights are a cheap and easy way to travel. Our India travel specialists will advise you on the different options you can choose from when building your travel plan.
